Get the Right Start with HRCI's aPHR

Know of someone new to the HR practice or someone who would like to enter the profession? If so, the new Associate Professional in Human Resources™ (aPHR™) certification may be the perfect suggestion!

The aPHR, an industry first, is designed for:

  • Recent graduates with an interest in an HR career.
  • New HR professionals, including professionals who are switching careers.
  • Line managers who have some HR responsibilities and want to expand their roles.
  • Military personnel seeking HR professional development or transitioning into civilian HR roles.

For new HR professionals, the aPHR will designate foundational knowledge of HR practice and provide the boost of confidence needed to stay on a successful HR career and certification path. As they grow and gain real-world experience, the aPHR establishes a sound launching point for continuous education and sets the stage for earning HRCI’s more advanced credentials such as the Professional in Human Resources® (PHR®) and Senior Professional in Human Resources® (SPHR®).

In short, the aPHR is a great way to make a smoother, more productive transition into the HR field. CHROs and hiring managers say they will look for the aPHR as proof of knowledge, commitment and passion for the practice of HR.

HRCI began accepting aPHR applications in April 2016 after an early pilot program that began in February 2016.
